Art Show

·  Eugene Stagnaro said he has a paid ad in the Enquirer for artists and public service announcements in all local papers

·  Tom Eberhard said we have 36 artists registered so far and expects about 55 by showtime.

·  We will meet at Steak & Shake for breakfast on September 21.

·  The meeting on September 10 will be devoted to final plans for the show.

·  We should put the signs out in two weeks and Tom will have the book ready for printing by the end of August.  He is looking for a cheaper printer.

·  Lynn and Bertha got 25 ads.  Marshall Bohannon got ads from every car dealer at Kings Automall.

·  Bill Ash found a 20 by 20 foot tent for rent but it costs $400.  We might just use two or three of the smaller tents we have.

Convention Basket

Wendell Herrin asked our club to prepare a basket to be auctioned at the State Convention.  Jack Rosen made a motion to allocate $60 for the materials.  Marshall Bohannon seconded and the motion passed.  Lynn McNay will assemble the basket as she has for the last few years.

Kids & Strangers

Jack Rosen said Cincinnati Union Bethel was interested in the Kids & Strangers program for their head start kids.  He will find out how many DVDs they want.

Key Club

Rick Jones reported that there is no more Sycamore Key Club.  It has been taken over by Rotary.  The advisor’s husband is in Rotary.  Jack Rosen said we should change our name to Montgomery/Blue Ash Kiwanis and recruit Rotary’s members.

Program

David Freas talked about how green speckles were made for GleemII toothpaste.  He told how toothpaste is formulated and how cavities were prevented back in the good old days when all Crest did was fight cavities.
